CHARACTER - A member’s attitude and self-image towards the society and community. SCHOLARSHIP - Candidates shall have a cumulative scholastic average of 90% and above. This scholastic average is the required minimum achievement for admission as a candidate into the chapter. LEADERSHIP - Implementing initiative, skills, and talents in directing or chairing one or more NHS committees within the school year. SERVICE - This quality is defined through the voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation and with a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic spirit.
The NHS Lingo:
TAPPING The first step in joining our chapter! After filling out an application, tapping means that you've been chosen and will move up to the position of inductee!
INDUCTEE A person who has passed the tapping phase and a hopefully soon to be full-fledged member!
SPIRIT WEEK A week of fun to test your creativity and commitment to the club! With spirit week, you exhibit your skill through costume, donations, and even reading a speech assigned to your class!
